The game got off to a fast start with end to end play from both teams. Both teams started strongly and linked well to keep the score close. AHS attack of Lois Philips and Sonya Kurtz worked well around the circle to feed in some valuable balls to shooters Kaitlyn Leslie and Shaina Douglas to end the first quarter 7-5 to AHS.
The second quarter saw both teams settle and the Kiwis attack of Holly King and Libby fox worked well together making it difficult for the AHS defenders Ellie Bisset and Natasha Tulloch. Sharp shooting from Dawn Manson and Rhianne Colvin for Kiwis saw them pull back AHS lead to end the second quarter 12-11 to AHS.
Kiwi’s defenders Brenda Leask and Kim Johnson did not make it easy for AHS with tight marking and excellent interceptions in the circle to gain possession for Kiwis. Kiwis managed to take the lead by 2 goals with the third quarter ending 19-17 to Kiwis. The last quarter saw changes by both teams but Kiwis had the momentum and went to win the match 30-21. Players of the match were Natasha Tulloch for AHS and Karen Mackay for Kiwis.
