AHS 24 v 56 Loungers

The first quarter started with quick play from both teams. Great linking from AHS midcourt Cara Montgomery and Jules Jarmson bringing it down to shooters Sadie Fox and Niamh Paton. Loungers defenders Vikki Smith and Louise Birnie made it difficult for AHS to feed it into the shooting circle. This pressure helped to successfully push the ball back up the court to Loungers shooters Kaitlin Leslie and Ava Johnson which resulted in the first quarter ending 12-5 to Loungers.

Quarter two saw AHS make a few changes bringing Annie Mowat into mid court at centre who did some brilliant feeds into AHS shooters Fox and Caitlin Spence. Loungers managed to gain possession of the ball through their excellent interceptions, making it difficult for AHS defenders Eve Fraser and Tegan Hendren. The second quarter ended in 28-15 to Loungers.

The third quarter saw Loungers very determined to keep their lead but AHS fought well and gained some shots. AHS WD Jodie Kerfoot managed to carry out some good interceptions to try help keep the play out the Loungers circle. This ended in Loungers leading 40-19

The final quarter started with Mowat putting excellent pressure on Loungers centre and managed to gain the ball and push it up to the AHS shooters. Paton was able to carry out some excellent drives into the circle successfully gaining AHS some shots. Loungers managed to gain the ball from excellent play from midcourts Hazel Johnson and Beth Mouat and accurate shooting from Leslie and Jodie Walterson leading to Loungers taking the win of 56-24. Player of the match for Loungers was Vikki Smith and for AHS it was Annie Mowat.
