AHS 28 V 45 Whalsay

The game started off at a fast pace from both sides. With good linking between Whalsay’s Anne Williamson, Vaila Kay and Debbie Irvine into the shooting circle. AHS defence of Eve Fraser and Jess Fraser worked hard to keep the Whalsay shooters out the circle but with accurate shooting from Irvine and Ellie Sandison meant Whalsay pulled ahead, ending the first quarter 10-4

The second quarter saw Whalsay determined to keep their lead. This saw good teamwork between the Whalsay defenders of Lara Kay and Lynsey Irvine to keep the AHS shooters out. AHS settled into the quarter and started to find their rhythm with good linking up the court from Cara Montgomery, Niamh Paton and Caitlin Spence. The quarter ended 23-9 to Whalsay

The third quarter started with some changes in the AHS team with Montgomery going into the shooting circle at GA and Paton going on at WA. With good work between Jess Wadley and Jodie Kerfoot it saw the ball successfully travelling up the court to the AHS shooters, but with strong pressure from Kay and Irvine it saw Whalsay gain interceptions to turn the play back around. The third quarter ended 33-17 to Whalsay

The fourth quarter started with Lara Kay going into the shooting circle and Cally Thomson move into defence. Both teams settled quickly which saw strong game play from both sides. The game ended 45-28 to Whalsay. Players of the match were Caitlin Spence for AHS and Lara Kay for Whalsay.
