Allsorts 31 V Dutch Courage 31

Allsorts had first centre pass but failed to convert this conceding the first goal to Dutch Courage.  There was good linking play between Dutch Courage mid court players Kate Wills and Vaila Robertson up to their shooting circle.  Julie Nisbet and Alison Anderson rarely missed a shot securing Dutch Courage the first quarter 8 goals to 3.

Allsorts started the second quarter with better linking play between Martha Smith, Kayleigh Gear and Melanie Tulloch.  Their defence of Chloe Howarth and Stephanie Tulloch also intercepted a number of rebounds from the Dutch Courage shooting circle which saw Allsorts take the first 4 goals.  Dutch Courage rallied again towards the end of this quarter and went into halftime with a lead of 14-8.

Allsorts made some changes going into the third quarter with Kayleigh Gear moving to GA and Melanie Tulloch to WA.  Initially play was end to end with both Allsorts and Dutch Courage linking well to get the ball to their respective shooters.  Alison Anderson and Julie Nisbet rarely missed a shot in this quarter, extending Dutch Courage’s lead to 24-17.

It was all to play for in the final quarter with Allsorts having a strong start taking the first 3 goals.  They went on to even the score 29-29 with 2 mins left to play.  Both teams continued to fight for every ball, converting their respective centre pass to a goal.  With 20 seconds to go, Allsorts took the final centre pass of the game.  They needed one more goal to secure a draw.  The whistle ended what was Allsorts strongest quarter, the final score 31-31.
