Challengers 16 V 33 Yell

The game started with a Challengers centre and strong play from both teams fighting for the first goal. Yell stood their ground and pushed ahead with accurate shooting from Jasmine Lawson Yell GA. This enabled the distance to greaten with the quarter ending 9-4 in favour of Yell. 

Quarter 2 saw changes to the Yell team subbing on 3 fresh legged players. Challengers dug deep to try to tighten the gap with their defenders Audrey Irvine (GD) and Amy Pearson (GK) putting in a fantastic game in the circle. Quarter 2 ended with a score of 19-8 to Yell. 

After half time, Yell again swopped in team players to help boost their score. This quarter it went almost 7 minutes without a goal being scored for either team. Challenger’s new recruits Carla Fraser (GS) and Evie Williamson (C) played a super quarter helping challengers attempt to close the gap. Score at the end of the 3rd quarter was 26-11 to Yell.  

The final quarter started fierce with Challengers wanting to gain a point, making this their best quarter. Centre and mid court players, worked hard to get the ball to their shooters and avoid Yell’s tall defenders. The game ended with a score of 33-16 to Yell. Players of the match were Katie Sandison for Challengers and Jasmine Lawson for Yell.
