CHALLENGERS 34 NESS HOTSHOTS 46

Ness Hot Shots started the first quarter with good attacking play. The Challengers defence worked hard but Hot Shots rarely missed a shot on goal and this gave them a comfortable lead of 14 – 6 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw some good end to end play from both sides. The Challengers’ mid court players worked hard to create more opportunities for their shooters. This, however, wasn’t enough and the Hot Shots maintained the lead with a score of 25 – 14. In the third quarter the Challengers were determined to close the gap. Their defence grabbed every opportunity to win rebounds and their shooters were able to convert some of these into goals. However, Ness Hot Shots’ defensive play all over the court made this difficult and they kept hold of the lead with the quarter ending 32-23. Both teams came out fighting in the last quarter as there was still all to play for. It was a highly competitive quarter with neither team giving up. Hot Shots had the upper hand and they finished the match with a convincing win of 46 – 34. Players of the match were Karis Leask for Challengers and Ruth Morris for Ness Hot Shots
