Challengers 38 v 22 Delting
The first quarter was a close contest with end to end play, with both teams taking a bit of time to get into their flow. Erin Hunter at goal attack for Delting was on shooting form but Challengers defence of Vicky Irvine and Maria Sales made some great interceptions and helped their team take a 8-6 lead at the end of the quarter.
The second quarter saw Nicola Robertson and Kaitlyn Johnson in Delting’s defensive circle winning rebounds and making interceptions however Challengers had found their feet and managed to grow their lead to 19-11 at half time.
Challengers started the third quarter strong with some great linking play from Holly Jamieson and Valerie Sales. Ashley Hay at Centre for Delting worked tirelessly at both ends of the court. The quarter ended 28-15 in Challengers favour.
The final quarter saw some great shooting from both teams. Delting’s Goal Shoot, Lara White, netted some great shots to help her team have their highest scoring quarter. However Challengers continued to build on their lead and the game finished 38-22. Players of the match were Valerie Sales for Challengers and Kaitlyn Johnson for Delting.
