This match started quite evenly as both teams settled into the game. Da McEwans found their rhythm first, with accurate shooting from Joanne Stewart and Emily Henderson, and strong defending from Ruth Simpson and Ellie Sutherland, giving them a 12-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Da McEwans dominance continued in the second quarter and, despite the best efforts of Wastside mid Court players C Ruby Leask, WA Susan Morrison and WD Shona Hunter to break up the play, Da McEwans led 28-6 at half time.
The third quarter saw Da McEwans extend their lead further through excellent passing from defence right through to their shooting circle where Stewart and Henderson continued to find the net, giving them a 34-10 lead going into the last quarter.
Wastside never gave up and they were unlucky not to take half points after a strong last quarter saw them score 10 goals. Da McEwans were just too strong on the night though and convincingly won 43-20. Players of the match were Ruth Simpson for Da McEwans and Ruby Leask for Wastside.
