DFDS Kiwis 39 V 14 SFC Filsket

Kiwis had a solid start to the first quarter, with strong linking play into GS Rhianne Colvin who was shooting accurately. The Filskit defence duo of Kayti Jeromson and Sarah Kay were working tirelesly to halt the pace of shooting duo Louise Jamieson & Rhianne Colvin, but Kiwis took a strong lead ending first quarter 13-3.

Second quarter saw Marianne Gardner come on to shoot for Filskit, she was strong willed and driving well into space, but the defence of Kim Johnson & Natasha Tulloch made things difficult to score. Kiwis had a few misses in this quarter, which Filskit managed to capitalise on, ending the quarter 18-5.

Kiwis had a good lead at half time, but Filskit made some changes to their defence that worked in their favour, with Gayle Henry coming on to GK, which made movement in the circle more difficult, and they were picking up any rebounds from Kiwis shooters. This didn’t stop Kiwis, with strong attack/defence from Emma Niven in the midcourt who quickly got balls into shooters, which brought Kiwis a final score of 39-14. Players of the match were Gayle Henry for Filskit, and Emma Niven for Kiwis.
