Dutch Courage 14 V 42 Mishaps

First quarter saw Mishaps start strong with great play from Suzanne Manson (WA) and Morgan Henderson (GA). Young centre for DC Anja Leslie linked well with Alexis Jamieson (WA) to feed the ball to shooters Vanessa Mainland (GS) and Sadie Meadows (GA).

The second quarter welcomed Dutch Courage’s newest player Justice Zalekesina, she took on the role of WA. Justice worked tirelessly to intercept and attack Mishaps passes resulting in a some cracking long shots into the circle. Chloe Howarth (GS) and Laura Sinclair (GA) of DC, tried to keep the pressure on Mishaps defence, leaving quarter 2 at 8-23 to Mishaps.

Dutch Courage made a couple of changes to their line up heading into the third quarter. Both teams were again linking well up the court to their respective shooters when in possession of the ball. However, Mishaps were the stronger team converting a number of interceptions to build on their lead. Dutch Courage continued to fight and made a number of interceptions of their own. However, it was not enough to prevent Mishaps from taking the third quarter 12-29.

Last quarter started with goal to goal play. Excellent shooting from both teams with some impressive shots. Centres Anja Leslie and Sarah Williamson worked well with their WA to feed the ball to the shooters. The game ended with Mishaps taking the win 42 – 14. Players of the match were Nia McLean for Dutch courage and Alicia Hunter for Mishaps.
