Filsket 10 – Kiwis 30

Filsket took to the court, with a weakened side, aware of the challenge they were going to face against a strong Kiwi side.As a first quarter score of 6-3 suggests, the quarter was competitive with neither team making it easy for the opposition. All players were applying pressure to their opponents and had to work extremely hard, never giving up until the ball was through the net. Filskets defence of Kayti Jeromson, Kristen Jeromson and Sarah Kay connected well controlling the defending third.

Despite a number of turnovers Filsket shooters, Sarah Anderson and Kelsey Tulloch were unable to capitalise due to the defending duo of Kim Johnson and Brenda Leask hunting down every ball. The third quarter was another low scoring quarter with only 6 goals being scored in total. As Kiwi’s shooters Rhianne Colvin and Alina Murray gained momentum in the final quarter Filsket slightly ran out of steam. Filsket were unable to score any goals and Kiwis extended their lead to 20 goals.

Filsket were disappointed not to get half points but were delighted with the teams effort against Kiwis. The game was a well-contested, competitive game with great netball displayed by both sides. Players of the match Holly King for Kiwis and Kristen Jeromson for Filsket.
