Both teams took a little while to settle into the game. Johnsons Jaguars sister duo Rachel Young and Kayleigh Young working well together with Caitlin Munro and Megan Nicolson to get the ball to the Jaguars net. However, the Unst combination of Karis Burns, Jade Nicolson and Naomi Brown worked well and intercepted many passes to get the ball up to their shooters. The first quarter finished 8 each.

The second quarter saw both teams come on eager to take the lead. Unst GA Erin Spence working well with Karis Burns to get the ball to the post. Shooters Kerry Laurenson and Erin Spence making Johnson Jaguars Nicole Mouat and Chloe Jamieson work hard to try intercept the ball but Spence and Laurenson’s shots were on target and Unst took the lead 20-13.

The third quarter saw some changes for Johnson Jaguars with Kayleigh Young coming on as defence and Kelsea Blades in attack. Unst were keen to maintain their lead and took Lottie Thomson on in defence. Johnson Jaguars Caitlin Munro was making Unst midcourt players work hard as she got the ball up the court to shooter Rachel Young and Megan Nicolson. Unst defence Andrea Laurenson working tirelessly to try and intercept passes but Johnson Jaguars closed the gap and the quarter finished 26-20 to Unst.

The final quarter saw Johnson Jaguars tiring, Unst however were keen to increase their lead. Unst midcourt players were intercepting many passes and they all worked well together to get the ball to Laurenson and Spence who missed very few shots. Unst increased their lead and won the game 40-23. Players of the match were Erin Spence for Unst and Caitlin Munro for Johnson Jaguars.
