The game started as a very scrappy affair with both teams taking a while to settle, resulting in the ball going up and down the court a few times before a goal was scored. This resulted in a low scoring 9-8 quarter in scallywags favour.
Scallywags settled the quickest in the second quarter with some good link up play from their midcourt players into their shooters. Jaguars defence was putting some good pressure on so it was taking Scallywags longer to score but with accurate shooting they pulled ahead into a 17-13 lead.
The third quarter was where Scallywags really came into their game and started to play some really good, fast flowing netball. Jaguars were struggling to gel together and were giving the ball away with some sloppy passes meaning the quarter ended 26-17 to Scallywags.
Jaguars came out onto the court in to the fourth quarter with a renewed vigour and started to play some good netball again. With a run of goals Jaguar’s were starting to come back into it but unfortunately Scallywags were too far ahead and the final score finished at 35-28. Players of the match were Jodie Sandison for Johnson Jaguars and Ami Maddison for Scallywags.
