Johnson Jaguars 35 V 46 AHS
The game started off with surprisingly calm play from both teams. Jaguars C Freya Leslie and AHS C Jules Jarmson both were fighting for each and every ball to try get their team ahead. Jaguars WA Megan Nicolson played brilliantly out of normal position and was a strong asset to getting the ball into Jaguars shooters Sophie Morris and Rachel Young despite the pressure from AHS defence of Jess and Eve Fraser. The quarter ended 9-9.
The second quarter saw Jaguars make no changes and AHS bring on Caitlin Spence as GS and Tegan Hendren as GK. Both teams were fighting for the ball and took any opportunities for a steal. Jaguars WD Kelsea Blades and GD Kayleigh Young made a few great interceptions and held their spaces well. This along with great play from GK Chloe Jamieson helped to finish the quarter 21-19 to Jaguars.
The third quarter saw the start of tired legs from Jaguars and AHS started to show their strengths. Sadie Fox, GA for AHS had some fantastic drives into the circle and rarely missed a goal. AHS Annie Mowat and Fox proved to be an excellent pairing and the 3rd quarter finished 29-30 to AHS.
The last quarter saw the game become a lot faster paced and scrappy. AHS again showed their youth and made sure never to miss an opportunity for a steal. Despite efforts from Freya Leslie at GD and Chloe Jamieson at GK the shooting duo for AHS pulled ahead. The game finished 35-46 to AHS. Big thanks to Ami Maddison for scoring. Players of the match were Annie Mowat for AHS and Megan Nicolson for Jaguars.
