Johnson Jaguars 49 V 23 Delting
The game started quickly with Delting getting the first centre pass. An error by Delting resulted in Jaguars securing the ball and getting the first shot of the game by Rachel Young (GS). Delting fought back with Ashley Hay (C) working alongside Adele Benett (WA) to get the ball to Hannah Williamson (GS) and Erin Hunter (GA). Excellent defending from Ruth Morris (GD) and Chloe Jamieson (GK) resulted in Jaguars taking the lead at the end of the first quarter, 12-3.
The second quarter showed Jaguars Nicole Simpson coming on as GK which kept high pressure on Deltings Lara White (GS). The play was fast this quarter and Jaguars were stepping up their game getting great passes into the circle by Jodie Sandison (C) and Freya Leslie (WA). Despite the pressure
from Deltings Jenna Mouat (GD), Jaguars Megan Nicolson (GA) didn’t let this affect her performance and the quarter ended 28-9 to Jaguars.
The third quarter saw both teams continuing great play. Jaguars Jemima Budge came on as WA and great passes were made in the midcourt despite the good defence by Deltings Holly Stephen (WD). Jaguars Kayleigh Young (WD) had some great interceptions putting high pressure on Delting, and they managed to maintain ahead with the third quarter ending 36-17 to Jaguars.
The last quarter saw little changes to both teams. It was very quick paced as all players fought hard. Although there was great defending from Deltings Nicola Roberton (GD) Jaguars shooters maintained well under pressure with some excellent shooting. In the end Jaguars took the win 49-23. Players of the Match were Megan Nicolson for Jaguars and Erin Hunter for Delting.
