Kinetics 11 V SFC Filsket 32

Filsket got off to a flying start in the game against Kinetics with incredible accuracy from both their shooters. The quarter saw an early ankle injury for Kinetics’ midcourt player Aimee Smith leaving kinetics to make a few changes before playing on. Kinetics struggled to match Filsket’s quick start after this and the quarter ended with Filsket 8 goals in the lead.

Second quarter saw Kinetics up their game and work tirelessly to close the gap. Defenders Ciara Kelly and Sarah Kay and Kayti Jeromson made play into the circle difficult for Kinetics midcourt feeders who were caught out by their interceptions. Kinetics defenders Andrea Ross and Louise Malcolmson worked very well to block incoming passes at their end, however Filsket shooter Lisa never missed a shot and managing to bring the quarter to a 15-4 end.

The second half of the game saw Filsket increase their goal lead once again with accurate passing throughout the court facilitated by a strong midcourt unit. Things remained tight for Kinetics with a player down – they made some more changes this quarter and used their versatility to rotate around the court. Anja Kurtz came on and gave Filsket another boost which saw them head in to the last quarter with a strong lead.

Final quarter saw determination from both sides. Kinetics made a substitution, which saw Andrea Ross enter the shooting circle and play well alongside Liza Fullerton. Both shooters made some great tactical moves to pull defenders away from the post but it wasn’t enough to close the score gap. Filsket again showed great teamwork in the final 12 minutes and powered on to finish with a clear lead of 32-11.
