Kinetics 38 V 10 Yell
Kinetics started strong with Kristi Grant and Carina McLatchie reading the play well and making strong interceptions. Yell’s Martha Colclough created space in her shooting circle which allowed many shooting attempts and her efforts resulted in Yells first goal. Towards the end of the first quarter Yell started to find their footing with Leslie Strachan showing impressive marking which put the pressure on Kinetics leading to interceptions for Yell. However, Kinetics, Karis Georgeson settled right into position with plenty confident netting. The first quarter ends Kinetics 10 – 4 Yell.
Second quarter kicked off with a strong interceptions from Ciara Kelly and Grant resulting in a successful long shot from Georgeson. Yell continue with good defence at centre passes. Alice Jamieson from Yell picking up loose balls and supporting the Yell team right up the court. Yell’s Sandra Petrie providing good support to the shooting circle enabling the shooters to convert in to a goal. Play was slightly frantic with lots of interceptions from both teams resulting in end to end play. Ella Johnson at goal keeper getting rebounds to help convert into a goal for shooter Liza Henderson. Yell defender Kerry Nicolson shows her experience providing great defence and calmness to her team. Alice Jamieson reading play well which is keeping pressure on in the mid court. Goal defence Shannon Stevenson keeping pressure on in the circle forcing some errors from the yell side. At half time Kinetics were ahead 17 – 6.
Yell centre pass lead to error giving Kinetics the opportunity to intercept but Yell were quick to find their feet again and stole the ball back. Karis Georgeson continued to be a stand out scorer with multiple successful long range shots. Nicholson continued to be strong in the Yell defence and steals the rebound at every opportunity. McLatchie now in WD is solid in bringing the ball up the court. Kinetics Ella Johnson continues to swiftly and effortlessly intercept any ball that comes up into Yell’s attacking circle.
Moving into the Final quarter, Shannon Stevenson played well at GD intercepting the Yell shooting circles effort at goal. Amber Inkster in midcourt for Yell worked tirelessly in both attack and defence. Ciara Kelly made life difficult for Yell in the mid Court, intercepting and passing well in the court. Kinetics took the win 38 – 10. Players of the match were Karis Georgeson for Kinetics and Amber Inkster for Yell.
