Kinetics 7 V 30 Loungers

Kinetics 7 V 30 Loungers

Kinetics won the centre toss and took first centre pass for what was to be a well fought game. Due to injury and missing players Kinetics had a number of players playing out of position from the start against the notoriously strong side. Loungers displayed their strength and experience from the first whistle, immediately intercepting and converting this into the opening goal by Kaitlin Leslie at GS. Excellent attacking play from C Vicki Smith into accurate shooters Leslie and Ava Johnston pushed Loungers lead to 12 before Kinetics eventually found the net with Maisie Ramsay.

Kinetics defence Rozanne Georgeson, Ciara Kelly and Shannon Stevenson worked tirelessly throughout the quarter and C Carina McLatchie was persistent in ensuring the ball was playing into the home teams attacking third but the defensive unit of Jennifer Thomson and Louise Moar gave very little room for Ramsay and Lucy Thomson, kinetics shooters, to play the ball near enough to the shooting post. Jennifer Thomson, in particular, got her hands on some very important turnovers for her team which would quickly convert into another goal for her side. First quarter ended 19-2.

Second quarter saw a few changes for both sides and Kinetics did settle into play more with Stevenson making some excellent turnovers in the defensive circle for Kinetics. Loungers continued to make penetrating the circle difficult for shooters Ramsay and Liza Henderson but WA McLatchie and C Ciara Kelly worked hard and patiently on the circle edge to get some goals on the scoresheet. Loungers continued to display their experienced, confident play with their shooters hardly missing the net and showed why they have secured a position in the league play-offs. The fair play rule was called at half time so the game ended with a score of 30-7.  Players of the Match were Shannon Stevenson and Jennifer Thomson, both for their tireless work in the circle and excellent interceptions.
