The first quarter saw scrappy end to end play until AHS scored the first goal 3 minutes in! It was a fast paced quarter with both teams defending tightly resulting in lots of interceptions. Loungers shooting duo of Ava Sim and Jodie Walterson soon racked up 3 in a row despite tremendous defending from Natasha Tulloch and Ellie Bisset to end the first quarter 6-4 to Loungers.
AHS came out strong in the second quarter, Kaitlyn Leslie and Niamh Paton slotted home 2 in a row to draw the score back to 6-6. Both teams were more settled, play continued end to end until Loungers started to gain a small lead ending the second quarter ahead 13-11.
Quarter three started even, Loungers mid court were linking well with their shooters which helped Loungers edge further ahead. Both teams were quick to chase down any loose balls with some fantastic interceptions throughout the court. Loungers ended the quarter ahead 23-15.
The final quarter saw even play with Loungers defence of Claire Johnston and Sally Sandison making the AHS shooters work hard. AHS midcourt players worked really hard to support throughout the court never giving up, the game ended 29-20 to Loungers. Players of the match were Claire Johnston for Loungers and Natasha Tulloch for AHS.
