The first quarter started slowly for Loungers, with Ness taking a couple of easy goals. Great shooting from Estella Smith and Sarah Kissick of Ness. Some considered passing and patient play got Loungers back in the game. Ness took advantage of all opportunities and took the first quarter with a 2 goal lead at 10-8.

Loungers settled better into the second quarter with some tight marking in their defence. Ness kept pressure on in the circle, however, Jodie Walterson managed to find good spaces, allowing the Loungers attack to feed the ball into her. Some lovely shooting allowed Loungers to draw level, and with continued pressure, gain the lead, with the quarter ending 17-15 to Loungers.

The third quarter saw end to end goals. Loungers linked well up the court with some super passing from Hazel Johnson. Ness fitness levels challenged the Loungers with continued tight defence. Loungers fought hard in the circle, but Ness were ready to capitalise on any small mistakes. Lovely passing into the circle by Sarah Kissick allowed Estella the opportunity for some great shots. This allowed Ness to end the quarter in their favour 25–24.

The fourth quarter saw both teams under pressure which caused some scrappy mistakes by both teams. Loungers managed to settle and take back the lead. Ness then managed to get a run of goals with some great long-range passing into the circle, taking the Loungers defence by surprise. With 2 minutes to go the score was 31 all. Loungers managed to take the lead and capitalise on a few frantic passes made by the Ness team. Loungers managed to win the closely fought game 35–32.
