McEwans 28 V Hotfooters 21

Hotfooters won the toss and from the first centre pass it was evident they would be playing an extremely fast game. Their defense of Ella Robertson, Ellie Bisset and Kirstin Grant were strong and gained many interceptions. They raced into a commanding lead and led 8-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Da McEwans upped their game in the second quarter, with the defensive trio of Ann-Marie Anderson, Amber Paton and Laura Polson, assisted by Kayleigh Irvine at C, completely dominating their circle and making attacking play hard for the Hotfooters as they only scored 2 goals. At the other end Joanne Stewart and Emily Henderson were beginning to find the net and Da McEwans led 11-10 at half time.

The third quarter was a much closer affair, with a great mid Court battle between Nicola Polson and Eileen Robertson of Da McEwans and Eve Fraser and Isla Murphy of Hotfooters dictating much of the play. Hotfooters shooters Shaina Douglas and Niamh Paton were more confident and kept the game within their reach as Da McEwans led 18-16 going into the last quarter.

Hotfooters tired in the last quarter and the experience of Da McEwans ensured them the win in a hard fought match which finished 28-21. Players of the match were Joanne Stewart for Da McEwans and Shaina Douglas for Hotfooters.
