Jaguars won the first centre pass. The game started with some quick play and some great shooting from Alicia Hunter and Morgan Henderson saw Mishaps pull forward in the lead. Jaguars Centre, Jodie Sandison and WA Ruth Morris worked well in the centre court allowing the team to pull back and end the first quarter leading 8-7.
Both teams were working hard to bring the ball up court as the second quarter began. But the Mishaps couldn’t defend against the Jaguars strong attack in the circle. Some excellent shooting Jaguars saw them widen the gap with the score sitting at 28-14 at half time.
Mishaps returned to the court determined with Kelsey Robb (C) working tirelessly to feed the ball up court into the Mishaps circle. Jaguars shooters Sophie Morris (GA) and Rachel Young (GS) proved too strong for the Mishaps defenders Elaine Burgess (GK) and Jordan Kay (GD).
Some fast and furious play in the final quarter was seen from both teams. Mishaps fought hard despite the scoreline and with some great shooting from Morgan for Mishaps saw them able to claw back some points. The final score was 51 – 29 with Jaguars taking the win. Players for the match were Freya Leslie for Jaguars and Alicia Hunter for Mishaps.
