Mishaps 38 v McEwans 29

Mishaps won the first centre pass and started with some strong play.  Alicia Hunter (GA) and Morgan Henderson (GS) working well together in the circle around the McEwans defence.  Mishaps were leading at the end of the first quarter 12-5.

The second quarter saw both sides settle into the game with some fantastic play from both teams.  McEwans defenders Amber Paton (GD) and Laura Polson (GK) worked tirelessly to keep the Mishaps goals out.  McEwans had found their flow and pulled back some goals with some excellent shooting from Joanne Stewart (GS).  The first half ended 16-13 in Mishaps favour.

The third quarter saw some changes for Mishaps with Leah Henry moving into WD and Suzanne Manson to WA.  McEwans continued to apply the pressure around the circle but Alicia and Morgan’s shooting remained undeterred and Mishaps went into the final quarter leading 25-19.

Both teams started the final quarter strong.  Mishaps Paula Williamson (GD) and Chloe Nicolson (GK) making some excellent interceptions in the circle with Mishaps ready to push the ball up court to their shooters.  McEwans continued to work hard throughout to try and narrow the gap which saw some outstanding shooting from Joanne and Anna Sutherland (GS) Mishaps held on to their lead and took the match 38-29. Players of the match were Morgan Henderson for Mishaps and Amber Paton for McEwans.
