Ness 25 V Tulloch Tornadoes 49

Both teams were slow to start but both defence ends were on the ball and picked up rebounds which resulted in end to end play. Victoria Duthie at GD for Tullochs made Ness’ GA Tahlia Leslie’s job very hard in the circle. Ness’ GK Ruth Christie picked up many interceptions and communication with GD Ailish Parham was great. A low scoring quarter ended 6-6.

Tullochs came fighting back and fresh legs on court, Kristi Leask picked up play and got nearly every goal in. Ness defence in the circle’s communications helped them pick up some interceptions which was worked up court well by Aimee budge at C and Antonia Woodside at WA. Their job getting the ball into the circle was made difficult with the Tullochs GK Emma Leask long arms got every inaccurate pass. Score ended 17-12 to Tullochs.

Ness was tiring coming into the 3rd quarter and the shooting pair for Tullochs of Tahnae Maclennan and Kirsti Leask’s worked fantastic in the circle getting near to every shot in.

The final quarter both teams were geared up but Tullochs had the last blast of energy. Their mid court players were great and made very accurate passes quickly getting up into the circle and their shooters converted their shots. The young pair of shooters for Ness never gave up especially against the more experienced defence. They worked well together getting a few goals to keep Ness in half points. The score ended 49-25 to Tullochs. Player of the match for Ness was GS Estella Smith and for Tullochs was GK Emma Leask.
