Ness 28 V Kinetics 34

The match got off to a quick start, a bit frantic at times with a few turnovers from both sides. Some strong work from both sets of defenders made it difficult in the circle, and saw Kinetics go into the 2nd quarter 8-7 up.

A few changes in the second saw Kinetics pull further ahead with more go forward ball, the Ness defence worked well to turn over a few, but this wasn’t converted into goals and Kinetics saw the half out 16-13 ahead.

With Andrea Ross controlling the Kinetics half Ness found it really difficult to find a way in. Good linking play by Katie Moore in the centre saw some fast ball into the circle, with Tahlia and Sarah working hard to make spaces, but the Kinetics defence dominated the circle making them work hard for every goal. Kinetics at the other end linked well around the circle to find a way in past the tireless Ness defence and pulled further ahead going into the final quarter.

Changes that saw Ailish Parham come out of defence into WA saw Ness rejuvenated in the final quarter, the Ness shooters came into their own and made the most of the hard won possession to win the final quarter – too little, too late however and a hard working Kinetics team ran out 34-28 winners. Players of the match were Katie Moore for Ness and Andrea Ross for Kinetics.
