Ness 39 v Filsket 29

The match got off to a frantic start, with Ness taking control thanks to some strong touches in defence, and incredible workrate as ever from Aimee Budge in the centre. Lois Phillips and Ciara Kelly worked hard in the middle third to slow the Ness attack, but some good work from Melody Goodlad in defence for Ness saw some invaluable turnovers turned into goals.

Tahlia Leslie and Estella Smith were worked hard by the well linked Filsket defence but both were on good form not missing much in the circle. Changes in the second half saw the Filsket shooters get more consistent penetrating service with some good interplay between Lois  and Ciara seeing Kelsey Tulloch and Lisa Emslie’s untiring hard work in the circle giving them more shots on target, but the relentless defensive pairing of Ruth Christie and Ailish Parham made it impossible to make up the deficit.

Some brilliant interceptions from Ailish and Antonia gave Ness more opportunities, with Ness shooters working well to convert all they could. The final quarter saw the defensive pairing of Kayti and Kirsten Jeromson take off with some brilliant touches, interceptions and well-read play forcing the Ness attack to switch things up to stay ahead. A well fought game, Ness staying strong to come out on top. Players of the Match were Tahlia Leslie for Ness and for Filsket Lois Phillips.
