The first quarter started off strongly from both teams with play very even and not many errors being made by either team. Strong play in the midcourt from C Lisa Anderson and GA Valerie Sales of Challengers allowed them to take a small lead of 9-12 going into the second quarter.

The second quarter was quite a scrappy affair from both teams but with some good defending from GD Melody Goodlad and GK Isabel Beswick of Hotshots they were able to transition nicely up the court and score some really nice goals. Challengers were still able to hold onto their lead though, with some lovely shooting from GS Karis Leask resulting in them going into the third quarter 22-16 ahead.

Hotshots made some changes in the third quarter with Kelsea Blades coming on at GK. Strong defending in the shooting circle from the Challengers defence allowed them to get some good rebounds and interceptions. Hotshots were still fighting strong with some of their own good interceptions from C Sophie Morris and WD Molly Nicolson. The score at the end of the third quarter was 34-24 in Challengers favour.

Hotshots mixed things up going on for the fourth and last final quarter with Molly Nicolson switching to C, Sophie Morris going to WA and Ruth Morris at WD. This seemed to pay off with Hotshots creating some lovely attacking moves until unfortunately Ruth Morris had to come off with an injury. This left Hotshots a little rattled and allowed Challengers to close out the match with a final score of 42-28.

Players of the match were Valerie Sales for Challengers and Ruth Morris for Ness Hotshots
