In what was the final game of the season Ness Hotshots started the brighter of the two teams with some accurate link up play between the two shooters Megan Nicolson and Kira Eldridge assisted well by C Sophie Morris. Some good defensive play by Yell in the circle made sure that Hotshots weren’t allowed to get much of a lead resulting in the first quarter ending 15-9 in Hotshots favour.

The second quarter started off in much the same vain and with some brilliant defensive play by Melody Goodlad and Isabel Beswick Hotshots were able to transition smoothly up the court with some nice supportive play by WD Kelsea Blades allowing them to get more goals on the board. Yell’s shooting circle were moving well to find some good shooting positions with both Laura Guthrie and Chloe Miller shooting well.

The third quarter started off as a very scrappy affair with the ball moving up and down the court several times before any team managed to find the net. This was Yell’s best quarter with Freya Hannay finding some lovely space in the shooting circle. Ruth Morris at WA for Hotshots was feeding the shooters very well keeping the score ticking over leaving it at 34-24 in Hotshot’s favour.

Hotshots came out fighting in the last quarter and with some nice tips and deflections from WD Molly Nicolson they scored a few unanswered goals. Yell never gave up though and with some nice play throughout the midcourt from WD Denise MacBeath and C Lesley Robertson they got some more goals on the board. The final score was Ness Hotshots 46 Yell 30.

Players of the match were Sophie Morris for Ness Hotshots and Laura Guthrie for Yell.
