Scallywags 35 V Wastside 33

Scallywags took the first centre in what was to be an even, well fought match. The first quarter saw a lot of end to end play, with accurate shooting from both teams. Scallywag’s midcourt were linking well together to feed accurate passes into Anne Marie Robinson and Eden Wadley, who were being carefully marked by Laura Cheyne and Sarah Sandison.

In the second quarter, fantastic play from goal attack Natasha Tulloch, supported well by Eda Leask and Molly Tulloch resulted in Wastside pulling ahead. Scallywags came out fighting in the third quarter. Determined play and crucial interceptions from Rhea Isbister ensured play was moving up the court in Scallywags’ favour, which Chrissie Arthur converted into goals. After an exciting third quarter, the game was drawn 26 each.

With everything to play for, the final quarter saw some competitive yet frantic play from both sides. Marie Moar played an important role for Scallywags at goal keeper, ensuring that any loose balls went Scallywags’ way.
