SFC Filsket 30 V 30 Whalsay
Both teams took a little while to settle but each team was capitalising on their opponent’s mistakes. The defence duos of Sarah Kay and Kristen Jeromson (Filsket) and Lara Kay and Natalie Constable (Whalsay) were having to work hard to disrupt the shooting flow of their opponents. Both team’s defence getting good interceptions keeping the shooters on their toes. Whalsay took the first quarter 7-3.
From the second quarter both teams made substitutions but none had a significant impact on either side as the score line went goal for goal. Whalsay’s lead came from the first quarter but Filsket winning every other quarter on goals scored. The second quarter ended 12-10 to Whalsay and the third 22-21 to Whalsay. Filsket’s Brooke Leslie (GS) coping well with the pressure and achieving a high shooting success rate.
The game was a nail biter which continued right until the final whistle. In the final seconds of the game, both Filsket and Whalsay missing their chance to win the game by one. Final score was 30-30. Great display of netball from both sides in a high spirited competitive game. Players of the match were Brooke Leslie for Filsket and Lara Kay for Whalsay.
