Tulloch Tornadoes 44 V 34 SFC Filsket
In the last game of the season, Tulloch’s took on SFC Filsket in what was sure to be a tough match. It was a fast paced match. Shooting was accurate throughout, with lots of interceptions from both sides. Both teams settled into the game quickly, with good attacking play. Accurate shooting from Kayti Jeromson and Holly Anderson meant that Filsket capitalised on every opportunity, however, Tullochs managed to get an early lead, finishing the first quarter eight goals up at 13-5.
In the second quarter, Tullochs’ strong defence of Kirsten Henry and Megan Keppie allowed them to keep ahead by making some great interceptions. But the interceptions came at the other end too as Kirsten Jeromson and Sarah Kay worked tirelessly to break down the shooting duo or Josie Smith and Tahlia Leslie. The quarter ended 25-17 to Tullochs.
Filsket came back fighting and managed to get to within 3 points at the end of the third quarter, making some vital interceptions, good passes into the shooting circle, and linking play well up the court. Nicola Duthie at centre kept the play together and swiftly moved the ball up the court. The score was 30-27 at the end of the quarter to Tulloch’s.
It was all the play for going into the final quarter with both teams determined to take home the win. Tullochs midcourt of Claire Morris and Cara Leask didn’t tire and continued to make accurate feeds into the circle. Down the other end, Kayti Jeromson’s quick passing and accurate shooting allowed her to dominate Filsket’s attacking end, however it was Tulloch’s who managed to pull ahead and the final score was 44-34 to Tullochs. Players of the Match were Holly Anderson for Filsket and Tahlia Leslie for Tullochs.
