Tulloch Tornadoes 60 vs AHS 29

The game started off with some fast paced play but it was Tullochs that were the first to settle with some accurate shooting from Kirsti Leask and Tahnae Maclennan. The AHS team were working hard in defence with Ruth Morris playing out of her usual position but she gained some valuable interceptions and tips which the AHS girls then managed to convert to goal. The first quarter finished 16-6 to Tullochs.

Tullochs pulled ahead in the second quarter as the team found their rhythm. Good linking play between Claire Morris and Debbie Henry in attack meant that they were able to find space around the circle edge and feed into the shooters. Abby Sandison and Kirsty Thomson worked tirelessly in the midcourt putting the pressure on Tullochs and were able to get some valuable turnovers. May Young at GA capitalised on these turnovers with precise shooting and hardly missed a shot. The second quarter ended 29-13 to Tullochs.

With both teams only having 7 players there were a few tired legs in the third quarter. Tullochs WD Leanna Jamieson showed her fitness though and got some great interceptions around the circle edge which Tullochs took advantage of. Imogen Teale was back playing for AHS at GS and was a great asset to the AHS shooting circle. She put up some good long range shots and the quarter finished 43-23.

The last quarter saw some changes being made to both teams, Young moving back to GS for AHS and Jamieson and Morris switching positions at C and WD. Emma Leask and Victoria Duthie switched positions with Leask moving up to GD for a run out of the circle for Tullochs. Tullochs continued to put the pressure on and saw them score the most goals of the game in this quarter. The AHS defenders never gave up though and Astri Balfour used quick feet and reactions to steal the ball from the Tullochs shooters on a number of occasions. The game finished 60-29 to Tullochs. Players of the match were May Young for AHS and Leanna Jamieson for Tullochs.
