Unst 40 v 10 Delting
The first quarter started with both teams quickly finding their feet and fighting hard for every ball. Unst mid court players Karis Burns and Ashley Symington were feeding strong balls into the Unst shooters which they quickly converted into goals. This accurate shooting from Unst resulted in them taking the lead at the end of the first quarter.
Unst came out and started the second quarter at a face pace. Delting defenders Nala Williamson & Hannah Laurenson worked hard in the circle to try and get possession back for Delting but once Unst shooters, Erin Spence and Kerry Laurenson got the ball there wasn’t many shots that they missed.
Both teams made some changes going in to the 2nd half of the match. Martha Moar came on in the Unst defence and began to make some great interceptions for Unst winning the ball back. This made a big impact and gave Unst a storming lead at the end of the third quarter.
Lara White continued to work tirelessly around the Delting shooting circle but with fast balls from Unst up the court any turned over ball was wuickly back into the hands of the Unst shooters. The game ended with Unst winning 40 – 10. Players of the match was Jessie Clubb for Delting and Karis Burns for Unst.
