Wastside 21 V 37 Challengers
The game started off with great play from both sides, an equal amount of goals for each team made it an exciting start to the match and finishing the first quarter ended at 9-9. Great play from mid court Julie Crossan and Ashley Hunter kept Wastside going.
The second quarter saw Challengers pulling ahead, with fast play from Sarah Groat (c) feeding through the centre court via Danielle Johnson (GA) and with help from Valarie Polson (GS) to secure the goals. Great defending from Vicky Irvine (GK) meant Wastside struggled to get re-bounds, this left Challengers leading by 17-14 at half time.
The 3rd quarter saw Challengers continue to pull ahead with fast play and great shooting in the circle. Wastside began to tire, and tight defence from Challengers in the circle, ensuring Wastside shooters were continuously having to battle for every goal, leaving Challengers in the lead by 19-27. The final quarter saw a great fight from both teams, some fast play and accurate passing from Challengers meant they took the lead and ended the game on 37-21. Players of the match were Erin Morrison for Wastside and Danielle Johnson for Challengers.
