Wastside 22 V  38 Mishaps

Wastside 22 V  38 Mishaps

The game started off at a fast pace from both sides with both centre court players, Julie Crossan for Wastside and Sarah Williamson for Mishaps, working hard to attack strong, pass accurately and make sure the ball was fed into their shooting circle. Mishaps shooters Morgan Henderson and Alicia Hunter also had to put in the work with the pressure from the Wastside defenders Sarah Sandison, Shona Hunter and Bronwyn Walterson. The quarter ended 11 – 8 to Mishaps.

The second quarter Mishaps had improved their game. Linking well up the court and scoring goals to follow. Mishaps defenders Leah Henry and Elaine Burgess made some good interceptions.  A few loose balls from Wastside and rebounds meant that Mishaps pulled ahead.  The second quarter ended 25 – 11 to Mishaps.

The third quarter Wastsides midcourt of Courtney Young and Ashley Hunter worked hard to slow down the play and regain composure, however the opposition of Suzanne Manson and Williamson continued to put in a good work effort, communicating and passing well giving the support up the court into the shooting circle where Hunter and Henderson continued Mishaps lead with a score of 31 – 16 at thd end of the quarter.

The last quarter Wastside started to find their rhythm and won a number of turn overs which were converted into goals by Erin Morrison and Mhari Drozdowska. However this wasn’t enough to close the gap. The final score was 38 – 22 to Mishaps. Players of the match were Bronwyn Walterson for Wastside and Leah Henry for Mishaps.
