Wastside 37 V 18 Delting
The game began with Delting taking first centre pass, but some good interceptions lead to Mhari Drosdowski scoring the first goal for Wastside. Delting’s young mid court of Adele Tulloch, Hannah Williamson and Jessie Clubb worked tirelessly throughout the first quarter. Wastside shooters, Erin Morrison and Drosdowski worked well together and were shooting accurately which resulted in Wastside taking a steady lead 12-3.
The second quarter saw Wastside start strong. Kaitlin Johnson & Jenna Mowat defended well for Delting and were working hard to intercept the shots. Jessie Clubb came on mid quarter due to injury and worked hard to keep possession. Wastside continued to hold their lead, resulting in 19-10 score going into half time.
The third quarter saw Wastside mid court players, Shona Hunter, Julie Crossan & Kirsten Smith working together to keep strong possession. Erin Hunter & Lara White shot well in the third quarter for Delting, but it was not enough for them to pull ahead to catch Wastside’s lead.
In the final quarter, Wastside defence Sarah Sandison & Bronwyn Walterson worked hard to intercept goals in the circle, although Delting came on determined to score goals. The final score was 37-18 to Wastside. Player of the match for Delting was Jenna Mowat and player of the match for Wastside was Bronwyn Walterson.
