The match started off close, with lots of interceptions and good attacking plays from both teams. Aimee Budge at centre carried the ball down the court making great passes and connections with teammates, making it difficult for Whalsay to keep up. But accurate shooting from Debbie Irvine and Lara Kay kept the score 11-11 by the end of the first quarter.

As the second quarter went on, Ness pulled ahead with good movement in the circle from Estella Smith at GS and Sarah Kissick at GA. The Whalsay defence worked tirelessly to keep the ball out of the circle, with Natalie Constable at GD and Lauren Sandison at GK making crucial links with their team up the court. The quarter ended at 22-17 in Ness’s favour.

The third quarter saw changes from both sides with Lara Kay moving into GK making good interceptions, and Sonja Kurtz came on at WD, making it tough for the Whalsay attack. Ness took a strong lead with the quarter ending 33-24.

The final quarter started off strong from the Whalsay side, with long range shots from Ellie Sandison at GS and Debbie Irvine at GA, But Ness kept their lead, with the game ending 40-29. Players of the match were Lara Kay for Whalsay and Sarah Kissick for Ness.
