Whalsay 51 V 47 Tullochs
The first quarter started with a Whalsay centre pass; the first quarter was played very evenly as both defences worked hard. There was great movement around the court and effective linking between Marie Anderson C and Louise Johnson WA. Ending the first quarter at a close 11-10 to Whalsay.
The game remained close, with accurate shooting from both Tahnae Maclennan GA and Emma Sandison GS. This did not stop defenders Lara Kay GK and Leanna Jamieson GD working hard to get the ball back up the court as the team linked up well to get the ball to Krissie Robertson GS. Tullochs Cara Leask C and Thalia Leslie WA worked very hard to support the shooters in the circle ending the second quarter at 21-21.
Both teams worked very hard in the third quarter to pull forward, with small accurate passes and excellent support from Leanna Jamieson GD and Vaila Kay WD. However, Tullochs remained strong with their defenders, Ruth Anderson GK and Megan Keppie GD, as they kept shooter Debbie Irvine GA from getting close to the hoop. Ending the third quarter at 38-36 to Whalsay.
The final quarter saw both teams working hard. Lauren Sandison WD offered excellent support up the court the circle to shooter Ellie Sandison GS as she moved well around the defence. After a competitive and tiering match from both sides the game ended with a final score of 51-47 to Whalsay. Players of the match were Cara Leask for Tullochs, and Lara Kay for Whalsay.
