Yell 23 V 15 Mishaps
The first quarter saw Yell defence working hard with lots of good interceptions. There was accurate shooting from Yell GS Jasmine Lawson & GA Martha Colclough, despite Mishaps strong defence and some brilliant rebounds on both sides. First quarter ended 4-5 to Mishaps.
The second quarter started with a fast pace and long plays between points. There were alot of sideline balls and high passes between players. Mishaps defence was strong but Yell pulled ahead with the score at end of 2nd quarter 12-7.
Yell started well with some great linking passes between C Lesley Strachan and WA Sandra Petrie, for the first goal. Mishaps GD Sarah Williamson was defending well and making it difficult for GA. Play was strong from both ends and good defending from Yell’s GD Malin Leslie meant Yell continued to keep their lead.
The last quarter started strong for both teams with Mishaps gaining more goals. Play was fast and both teams were gaining interceptions but Yell managed to keep their lead winning 23-15. Player of the match for Mishaps was Sarah Williamson and for Yell Martha Colclough.
