Yell 26 v 32 Delting
Delting won the toss and took the first centre. Yell started strong and with a good few interceptions they were quickly ahead of Delting. There was also some good defending from Delting’s GK Nicola Robertson, however Yell’s strong defence meant they dominated the first quarter with an 8-3 lead.
The second quarter saw Delting up their game with some outstanding play from GD Jenna Mowat, Delting started to creep back. Yell kept matching them goal for goal but with some goal after goal action from Delting this meant Yell had to keep fighting right to the end of the second quarter.
The third quarter again saw Delting demonstrate their competitive game with some great defending from GK Hannah Laurenson. Defenders for Yell Beth Nicolson and Malin Leslie kept fighting for every ball but Delting were keen to close the gap, this third quarter ended 23-19 to Yell.
The final quarter confirmed there was determination from each team to win back the ball with some good intercepting from Alice Jamieson and Martha Colclough for Yell, however each Yell interception was met with an even eager one from Delting. This matched with Erin Hunter’s (GA) on point shooting meant Delting stormed ahead with a final score of 32-26 in favour of Delting. Players of the match were awarded to Martha Colclough for Yell and Jenna Mowat for Delting.
