Ness Hotshots won the toss and took the first centre, quickly opened the scoring. Great linking in their attack, Yell came back quickly through GS Freya Hannay. Fast, end to end play from both teams saw almost point for point in the score line. Ness Hotshots took advantage of interceptions made mid court, GA Megan Nicolson and GS Kira Eldridge working well in the circle increased the lead. The quarter ended 6-10. Coming back on court for the second quarter Yell took advantage of the fast pace, WA Sandra Petrie feeding well into the circle. Accurate shooting from GS Chloe Miller and GA Stephanie Keith saw Yell close the gap in the score. Interceptions made by both teams saw play going from end to end for a time. Ness Hotshots just kept their hold of the lead by one point at the end of the quarter. Ness Hotshots began the third quarter at a fast pace, shooting from Megan Nicolson was consistently on target. Yell were capitalising on mistakes made by Ness Hotshots. GD Lesley Robertson and WD Denise MacBeath intercepting mid court, this allowed Yell to gain movement up the court and take the lead. Rebounds intercepted by Ness Hotshots gave them the chance to close in on Yell. Goin into the last quarter both teams were determined. With the score being so close, this caused extremely fast play but mistakes were being made from both sides. C Sophie Morris and WA Molly Nicolson working hard mid court and around the circle for Ness Hotshots, this paid off as they increased their lead. Yell GD Lesley Robertson and GK Lorraine Odie defending well in the circle. Yell fought back but it was not enough, Ness Hotshots won the game 38-44.
