Dutch Courage 35 V 25 Challengers
Dutch Courage hit the ground running at the very start and were quick to take the lead. Florrie Hughson (GS) and Sadie Meadows (GA) worked well in the circle despite a strong defence from Challengers’s Lauren Sandison (GD) and Audrey Irvine (GK). Dutch Courage were able to maintain the lead in second quarter with some great defending from Chloe Howarth (GK) and Laura Sinclair (GD).
Quarter 3 started fast, and Challengers were determined to close the gap. Attackers, Danielle Johnson (GS), Valerie Sales (GA) and Holly Jamieson (WA) worked tirelessly to get the ball past the Dutch Courage defence and into the net. However, Amanda Brown (WD) and Anja Leslie (C) were able to take advantage of interceptions and feed the ball back up to the Dutch Courage shooters, with the help of Alexis Jamieson (WA).
The final quarter saw some great play from both teams, particularly mid court players who were able to feed the ball up the court. Zoe Irvine (C for Dutch Courage) and Sarah Groat (C for Challengers) were an asset to their team mates. The game ended with Dutch Courage taking the win 35 – 25. Players of the match were Florrie Hughson for Dutch Courage and Holly Jamieson (WA) for Challengers.
