Kinetics 19 V 15 Unst

Kinetics 19 V 15 Unst

Kinetics started strong with 3 goals in quick succession form Maisie Ramsay and Lucy Thomson. Good play from Unst centre Ashley Symington and Chelsea Thomson linked the ball up to the Unst shooters. Strong defence in the kinetics circle from sisters Louise Malcolmson and Ciara Kelly put pressure on the Unst shooters Naomi Brown & Erin Spence, however Unst pulled it back to even up the score. Kinetics centre Kristi Grant working well at both ends of the court to control play, meaning Kinetics were able to pull ahead, ending the first quarter 6-3.

The second quarter saw a change to the Kinetics shooting circle bringing on Karis Georgeson at GS. End to end play for both teams taking some time to settle in to the second quarter. Symington and Thomson working well together to link the ball up to the Unst circle closing the gap in score. Great communication from Kinetics GD Malcolmson in her ability to read play making things very challenging for the Unst side. The second quarter ended 9-6 to kinetics.

Kinetics started well with Ramsay and Georgeson working well in the circle.  Frantic end to end play gave a low scoring quarter. Unst were playing wide and giving solid balls to each other. By this quarter, they were familiar where one another were, meaning play was slick. Kinetics were running out of steam, which led to mistakes and poor passes. Unst quickly turned these errors into goals and started to take the lead.

Moving into the final quarter Unst GD Ailidh Risk worked tirelessly in the circle picking up loose balls and unfortunately for Kinetics, they were unable to fight back in time and the final whistle was blown. Constant determination and strong passing from Unst helped in their victory, winning 19-15. Players of the match were Ailidh Risk for Unst and Maisie Ramsay for Kinetics
