Kiwis 59 V 14 Kinetics

Both teams were quick off the mark but Kiwis took the lead in the first quarter. Slick combination of play from Emma Niven C, Alina Murray and Rhianne Colvin in the Kiwi Attack resulted Kiwis to take the lead 15-5.

Going into the 2nd quarter changes were made from both teams. Some frantic passing from Kiwis allowed Kinetics to pick up loose balls but Kiwis applied an effective zone defence which delayed Kinetics attack up the court. Kinetics GD Tegan Henderson applied good pressure on theĀ  Kiwis shooters, resulting in some forced errors but Kiwis continued their lead 27-9.

Kiwis made more changes moving in to the seconda half, varying their play. Kinetics Karis Georgeson scored some great long range shots to get Kinetics team off the mark. Kiwis continued the zone defence up the court and worked efficiently into quick turnovers. Fast fluent attacking from Libby Fox and Sanna Aitken supported Kiwis to increase their lead. Kinetics C Jodie Kerfoot worked hard in the mid court linking well with shooters Maisie Ramsey and Georgeson. Kiwis maintained their lead 44-11.

More changes were made in the final quarter and both teams continued to fight hard. Both teams showed off new skills – particularly playing out of position with Kiwis taking the match 59-14. Players of the match were Alina Murray for Kiwis and Carla Johnson for Kinetics.
