Loungers 45 V 21 SFC Filsket
1st quarter started off with a steal at the first centre pass from Loungers resulting in a lovely goal from Kaitlin Leslie. Great defending from SFC Filsket’s Kayti Jeromson caused difficulty for Loungers feeding passes into the circle. However, Loungers defenders retaliated, with lovely interceptions from Ashley Symington. The quarter ended 12-4 to Loungers.
The 2nd quarter started evenly, with great shooting from Holly Anderson and Brooke Leslie of Filsket. Great work up the court from Loungers centre Jessica Turnbull allowed shooters the opportunity to score. This, coupled with great defending put pressure on the Filsket team. The quarter ended in Loungers favour 23-11.
The 3rd quarter started with fast paced passing up the court from both teams. Lovely feeds into the circle from Loungers Hazel Johnson. A superb interception from Kayti Jeromson allowed Filsket the chance at goal, however, Louise Moar was quick on the rebounds and gave Loungers back the ball. Great passing into the circle by Filsket’s Anne-Marie Goudie led to more, lovely shooting. However, Loungers pulled ahead to 35-15.
The final quarter saw end to end play. A lovely interception from Loungers gave the team a boost in confidence. However, Filsket fought back with great movement and shooting from Brooke Leslie. Loungers held on and took the game 45-21. Player of the match for Filsket went to Holly Anderson, and Ashley Symington for Loungers.
