Ness 39 V 31 Shetland Juniors
In the first quarter Ness took the lead with the first goal by Estella Smith (Ness). Both teams were fighting hard to take the lead. A few intercepts in the mid court from Shetland Juniors helped in keeping the score close. The first quarter ended 10-7 to Ness.
Shetland Juniors scored the first goal in the second quarter. There was good defending by the Ness duo of Ailish Goodlad and Ruth Christie. Both teams started to get into a good flow with good shouting and communication. Shetland Juniors shooting was strong but Ness kept a solid defence and intercepted where the opportunity arised. The second quarter ended 19-18 to Ness.
With only a 1 goal difference it was a close game with Ness defenders making good intercepts. Ness pull a head slightly with the third quarter ending 29-27 to Ness. Moving into the fourth quarter the game was anybody’s to win. Ness took the first goal and both teams continued to fight hard with a few crucial intercepts.
