The first centre of the match went to Delting’s Ashley Hay but both teams went on court raring to go. There was great teamwork from both teams, but Ness Hotshots C Jodie Sandison worked well with WA Lijana Kornejeva to get the ball to Shooters Rachel Young and Kayleigh Young. The first quarter ended 15 -3 to Ness Hotshots.
The second quarter saw Delting’s Jenna Mowat and Nala Williamson working together and getting many interceptions and driving the ball up the court to shooters Lara White and Erin Hunter. Hotshots defence team of Freya Leslie and Chloe Jamieson worked well together to intercept the ball. The quarter finished 22-7 to Hotshots.
In the third quarter Delting made a few changes to their defence team to try close the gap with Hannah Laurenson and Lily Rendall coming on court but Hotshots were keen to maintain the lead. Hotshots Kelsea Blades working well with Freya Leslie and Jodie Sandison to get the ball up to their shooters. The 3rd Quarter finished 35 – 11 to Hotshots.
Both teams were tiring in the last quarter with many passes were being intercepted by both teams. Delting played well together and continued to try and close the gap right up to the final whistle. Players of the match were Freya Leslie for Hotshots and Ashley Hay for Delting.
