SFC Filsket 25 V 44 Loungers

Filsket took to the court very much the under dogs but were determined to make things difficult for Loungers. Loungers were first to settle and both circles saw the defensive duos working hard to interrupt the shooters play. Loungers capitalised on Filskets mistakes ending the first quarter 13-8.

Loungers pulled ahead in the second quarter with some good mid court play. Ava Johnson and Kaitlin Leslie weren’t missing much despite the efforts of Kayti and Kristen Jeromson in the Filsket defence. Gayle Henry and Sarah Grogan had a tough time against the Loungers defence of Louise Moar and Jennifer Thomson but the support and patience from Filskets attack of Nicola Johnson and Vhairi Graham were feeding the balls in well.

Filsket went down to 6 players following an injury early in the third quarter and where fully expecting the score to dramatically change. Kayti stepped up to shooter and worked tirelessly in Filskets attack tactically feeding the ball into Gayle Henry who was playing a stormer. Filsket never gave up against a strong Loungers side and we’re delighted to get more than half points. It was a tough game for Filsket but their great team work and support carried kept them fighting to the end. The final score was 44-25 to Loungers with players of the match Gayle Henry for Filsket and Kaitlin Leslie for Loungers.
