Tulloch Tornadoes 40 V 41 SDS Kiwis
The game started fast with end to end play and both teams took time to settle. Good pressure from Tullochs defence of Emma Leask and Megan Keppie and patience up the mid court through Claire Morris and Cameron Johnston lead to turnovers in play and Tullochs gained a lead of 12-7 at the end of the first quarter.
Kiwis came on fighting in the second quarter with accurate passes from Sanna Onhausz and Emma Niven into Rhianne Colvin and Marie Clark whose shooting was on form the entire game. Kiwis brought the score back to 19-18 by half time.
With all to play for, both teams making interceptions and forcing errors, Maisie Unsworth and Brenda Leask made critical steals in defence to turn over the ball and get it back up to the Kiwis shooters, gaining a lead of four goals by the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter saw both teams keeping their centres for the first few minutes before crucial steals were converted by Tullochs shooters Tahlia Leslie and Tahnae Maclennan. It was goal for goal with one in it and Kiwis pipped Tullochs by one finishing the game ahead 40-41. Players of the match were Claire Morris for Tullochs and Sanna Onhausz for Kiwis.
