Tulloch Tornadoes 51 V 39 Whalsay

The game started with Tullochs taking the first centre and an early lead due to strong defence from Tulloch’s Emma Leask and Ruth Anderson made it difficult for Whalsay shooters. The play was fast from both teams which made for an exciting watch. Tullochs were linking well from the start and weren’t making many mistakes, ending the first quarter 16-4 to Tullochs.

The Second quarter saw both teams switching on different shooters, Josie Smith came onto GA for Whalsay and Tahnae Maclennan onto GS for Tullochs. Whalsays attackers worked well up the court, seeing quick passes into their circle from Catherine Williamson and Cally Thomason. Despite tight defence from Whalsay, Tullochs shooting was on point resulting in them staying in the lead ending in 29-14.

This 3rd quarter saw some great end to end play, making the mid court work hard to keep the pace going. Competitive play from Whalsay defensive half saw a lot of great turnovers and good support moving up and down the court, but Tulloch’s mid court of Kirsten Marie, Claire Morris and Allie Elphinstone worked tirelessly, helping to maintain the lead for Tulloch’s going into the last quarter, with the scores sitting at 44-31.

The last quarter saw Ellie Sandison coming on for Whalsay to support Josie Smith in the shooting circle, but Tullochs Emma Sandison moved to GA for the last quarter creating lots of shooting opportunities and scoring many goals. The match ended 51-39 to Tullochs. The player of the match for Tulloch’s was Emma Sandison and Josie Smith for Whalsay.
